The unknown patient
Every night my home is broken into
I'm sure they are the blokes upstairs
They also eat the dry food from the larder
And they leave Boston-fags into the ashtray
I'm fed up with being scared
That's why I sleep with a pistol under my pillow
I am used to using it
It served me already at the front
Stalin conquered Helsinki today
I informed the nurse about it
And of course I hid under my bed
They brought me another pill again
I hid it between the mattress
This malady made me lose my senses even though I fought back
CHORUS
Hear my wish, I want out (of here)
Couldn't my time be up already?
I've already seen this life
I got everything and even more
Hear my wish, I want out (of here)
Couldn't my time be up already?
I'd want to leave like a soldier
Sincerely: the unknown patient
The last time I saw grandpa
He didn't know me anymore
His condition had broken down
He had vanished back into Raatteentie (=kind of a battlefield)
I got a phone call from the nursing home yesterday
Grandpa is now free from all wars
Even if I cry I believe
That we will meet again
When we are carrying your casket
and we walk through the churchyard
Now I understand your request
That made me so angry
CHORUS
Hear my wish, I want out (of here)
Couldn't my time be up already?
I've already seen this life
I got everything and even more
Hear my wish, I want out (of here)
Couldn't my time be up already?
I'd want to leave like a soldier
Sincerely: the unknown patient
